Splinterland Brawls are a guild event where you can earn merits and SPS. This post serves as a way for me to review how my fights went and as a reminder to sign up for the next brawl. I have missed brawls in the past and it hurts when gladius cards can now be used in ranked battles using the soulbound summoners.
I choose the gold foil modern brawl and I got 4 wins and 2 losses. My rewards for the brawl were 1,450 merits and 16.37 SPS in the 2 star category. My guild ranked 5th place out of the 10 guilds there. I choose to take the gold foil modern brawl because my guild usually doesn't fill all their spots and I prefer to give my other guild members a chance at the brawls. We did better this time around and I think more people remembered to submit their matches. It looks like my guild might also start increasing the fee per season once we get some buildings leveled up.
There were 2 fights that I won, 2 that I lost, and 2 that did not submit their match. So I included an idea of what the match was below along with a few thoughts about it.
You can find the first match here. I lost this match and it had to do with my opponent's choice of using Mylor. The thorns combined with the amplified really did a number on my melee monsters. It destroyed the bloodlust monster that I was planning on using to stack up damage too.
You can find the second match here. I won this match and it was because I took advantage of the earthquake ruleset. My opponent didn't have many flying monsters and I still think it was a fairly close fight due to all the melee damage my opponent had.
You can find the third match here. I lost this match because my opponent did not use a magic build against me. There weren't many options and I thought that combining the amplify with magic reflect would work the best. However, this failed me because my opponent did not use any magic monsters.
You can find the fourth match here. I won this match because of the poison. It was a really close match and I only won this fight with 1 card left and that card had 1 health left. It was a mixed match but I do think the +1 speed from the summoner was the one that made the difference.
I think doing 6 fights for 1,450 merits and 16.37 SPS as a pretty good reward for the effort. I submitted 6 fights like last time and it worked out quite good for me in terms of rewards. My performance in the brawls isn't that bad either as I won half of my matches. I think brawls are a great way of earning SPS and merits for the number of battles you participate in. So I think it is worthwhile for people to participate in these brawls. My current brawls are in the two star category.
