Splinterland Brawls are a guild event where you can earn merits and SPS. This post serves as a way for me to review how my fights went and as a reminder to sign up for the next brawl. I have missed brawls in the past and it hurts when Gladius cards can now be used in ranked battles using the soulbound summoners.
Brawl fights
There were 7 fights: 3 that I won and 4 that I lost. So I included an idea of what the match was below along with a few thoughts about it.
You can find the first match here. I lost this match and I didn't have much luck for this match. There weren't many options for me so I just used what I could and had some damage dealers in the back. My opponent had higher health cards and this hurt me.
You can find the second match here. I won this match and I decided to just go with a soulbound summoner for the -2 armor. I felt that this would be more important. I had a reach and opportunity monster so I felt that it did help me quite a bit while my opponent couldn't do much. The thorns from the rule set were quite annoying.
You can find the third match here. I lost this match and that taunt monster hurt me. I couldn't deal much damage to my opponent and I got outplayed.
You can find the fourth match here. I won this match due to the blast and bloodlust. It worked out quite well for me even if I felt it was risky. I am just glad that I didn't miss any attacks and the bloodlust gave me some extra armor to take a few hits as well.
You can find the fifth match here. I lost this match and I just couldn't do much to my opponent when he had a void tank. It cut down my damage and he was able to take out my cards without any issues.
You can find the sixth match here. Like my first match, I was limited in my choices and I couldn't do much against my opponent. So this fight ended in another loss.
You can find the seventh match here. I won this fight and I felt that my opponent didn't have many options. So I cleared this fight without losing a single card and my ranged damage dealers did a ton of work.
Brawl Result
I forgot to get the results when it was in the settlement stage so I just grabbed the rewards from the log. Since we got 30 crowns, I think we placed either 4th or 5th place. My results from the league weren't as great as I would like as I got 3 wins and 4 losses.
Conclusion
I think doing 6 fights for 1,500 merits and 15.096 SPS is a pretty good reward for the effort. My performance in the brawls isn't that bad either as I lost more fights than I won. The SPS rewards are down this time around and the merits were the same as my previous brawl. I think brawls are a great way of earning SPS and merit for the number of battles you participate in. So I think it is worthwhile for people to participate in these brawls. My current brawls are in the two-star category.
