Yellow Walking Iris in the neighborhood..
Captured this beautiful yellow flower with brown marks in my neighbor's backyard. & found out that this is the walking iris or also known as Trimezia.
So then I google about this flower..
As the 'walking' portion of the name implies, the Yellow Walking Iris produces young plantlets on the spent flowering stems and once they are large and heavy enough the supporting stem will be pulled to the ground where the young plantlets can root into the soil and grow.
This is a South and Central American native species and is reported to be suitable for use as a bog plant, at pond edges and near other water sources.
