The best company for the bed

Blessed is the bed that gives us rest and comfort, pleasure and dreams, love and war. Blessed is the night that announces the entrance of a new dawn and offers us its wings to rest. Blessed are the books that help us to make our nights and our beds a better combination; and blessed is the company that, after an intense day's work, gives itself with you to the most passionate of pleasures: reading.

Blessed are all forms of happiness and especially those that make us dream of just, entertaining, adventurous worlds; with cruel worlds, but capable of being subdued for the good; because that is what literature is for, to sow us the idea of the impossible, of the practical; to remind us that society has to be compensated after a wrong, that's why justice mostly wins, as in Don Quixote or in Les Miserables, also in Crime and Punishment, in Doña Bárbara; and in so many good works where the idea of justice is there, in the narrator, in the characters and then in the reader who is impregnated with it, with those ideas that make him dream of new realities.

Literature can even make use of natural devastations, plagues, interplanetary invasions, cosmic holocausts; it can use any phenomenon to erase a society with a stampede, a landscape with a breath or a sea with a drought; but the reader will always get what is useful in these proposals, because the author wants to mean something; The imperishability of an era, of a custom, of a man; the impetus of natural forces when combined; the power of space when unleashed; literature uses the environment to look for examples of the least that could happen in the world, at the least unexpected moment.

And when he deals with these themes he does not do so out of mere fatalism, but out of integrality; the writer knows that he has nature, interior and exterior space; he knows that he has the past, the present and the future, and that everything serves to demonstrate his premises; there is not a single pin that he can leave out, because that is what his imagination, his capacity and his power to make worlds parallel to the real one with language are for; And in those worlds the reader is nourished, and compares, and lives, not alien to reality, no, on the contrary, we can better understand the world we walk in, where we dream and suffer, that's what literature is for; to offer us possibilities, perspectives that help us not to accelerate our ephemeral passage through the world.

But returning to the bed, I tell you that there is much that can be done; for example, I have taken several authors to mine and now that my partner is doing the same, we have ordered the space, painted the walls, we have had the bed reinforced because there are heavyweight authors and they make the literary orgies more intense, that at night the stars of the deceased writers shine and that sleep is doubly good; the one offered by the best world books and the one that consists of representing fantasies in images or events while sleeping. Who won't sleep happily with a company like reading!
