I've never actually read it, but just reading your description of the thorn scene already broke my heart 💔. It sounds so cruel that the little bird does all that only for it to be completely unappreciated in the end. I don't know if I'm ready for that much sadness today, but if you say it leaves that mark in just 10 minutes, I'm definitely going to have to read it.
