Hello Afri-tunes family. I am happy to be a part of you all today. If I am not mistaken, globally, this week is Easter week, right?
This Sunday that just passed was palm Sunday, coming Friday is called Good Friday. That Friday also signifies the day that Jesus was crucified on the cross of cavalry.
If it was the time I lived near a catholic church, I would have had the opportunity to watch the Catholics perform live all that happened on the day Jesus was crucified.
This reminds me of the year I watched the news when a man was killed in the name of an acting drama. The beating was just so severe that his body couldn't take it again, so he gave up the ghost. That's by the way though.
The Catholics have made it kind of like a tradition to do a drama that portrays all that happened exactly the way it was on the day Jesus was crucified.
If Jesus did not die for the sins of the world, his mission on earth wouldn't have been complete. It was recorded in the scriptures that at some point when Jesus saw all that he would have to go through, he prayed to God twice that the cup may pass over him, however, he also mentioned that God's will be done.
It is also recorded somewhere in the scriptures that we shall not be tempted beyond that which we can bear and in that temptation, he (God) will also make a way of escape.
The crucifixion of God was something that God planned since he brought Jesus Christ to the world.
The world had become so corrupted that he couldn't even believe that we were his creation. However, he loves us so much that he gave his only begotten son to die for us so that whosoever believes in him will not perish but have everlasting life.
These things are what inspired me to sing the song titled 'It is Finished'. The song is inspired by the suffering of Christ. 'Praise the Lord' is a different song I decided to add to the first song, making it like a medley. They are both original songs.
It's an original song, again just like the last one I sang in this community, it was composed by the woman who was the children's choir coordinator at the church I attended as a child.
We have hope for eternal life in God's Kingdom because of that precious blood that was shed for you and me.
No other blood speaks like the blood of Jesus that is why we always plead the blood when we pray.
Let's reflect on our lives and think about that precious blood that was shed. Happy Easter to you all.
I hope you enjoy listening to this song.
I Saw, Jesus
At the top, of the cross
Suffering, praying for the world
He prayed, he prayed
At last, he shouted
It is finished, the works of the world.
It is finished, it is finished
It is finished, it is finished
It is finished, the works of the world
It is finished, it is finished
It is finished, it is finished
It is finished, the works of Satan
He was tormented
He was tortured
Till the end, yet he prayed
It is finished, the works of Satan
He was tormented
He was tortured
Till the end, yet he prayed
It is finished, the works of Satan
Praise the Lord
Oh my soul
Everybody praises his name
King of kings
Lord of lords
He died to set me free
It was my Jesus Christ
Who died for me
He died and shed his blood
Just to set me free.
