The topics for this weekend's experience engagements are interesting. They are topics that make you imagine yourself in situations you never thought you could be in.
In this life, anything is possible, anything can happen, and this explains why we need to always be prepared for it. Someone mentioned in the comment section of that weekend's prompt that the topics would test a person's moral compass. It's true.
The first topic focuses on whether to do it or not. I have to imagine my best friend's partner who I find very attractive is flirting with me and then suggests a one-night-stand sexual encounter. My friend will never find out. Do I do it or not?
Well, there is nothing wrong with finding others attractive generally, but it becomes different when it is your best friend's partner. Many things could turn out wrong and the consequences aren't the type one can escape from, and I will tell you why shortly.
As a simple answer to this question, I am not doing it. Also, from that moment, I would try to flee from the evil of finding my best friend's partner attractive.
Everything starts with the mind. However, if we can take control of what happens in our minds, we can control what happens in reality.
Agreeing to a one-night sexual stand with my best friend's partner is generally not advisable and not the right thing to do. I won't do it because I know it is bad.
If I put myself in such a situation, one of the things I would think about is if I would be okay if I found out that my best friend did that to me. I definitely won't be happy. I will feel betrayed if I learn such happened. The emotional trauma that comes with such a thing is not something one wants to imagine.
One of the many things I have learned about life is that nothing is hidden under the sun. No matter how hard I may hide it from my best friend, something may come up in the future and expose that secret. This is because no matter how hard we try to keep our secrets, someone else may know them, or there may be evidence that can be found in the future. It is impossible to keep something completely hidden forever.
Even though we try to shrug off the feelings associated with what we have done, certain things still haunt us, no matter how hard we try. I have a conscience that judges me because deep within me I know what I had done is unacceptable. If it wasn't a mess, there wouldn't be any need to hide it from my best friend.
Whether I like it or not, doing something like that automatically identifies me as cheap. Even the person I did it with would consider me a cheap person. In life, people are often judged and perceived as a kind of person based on their actions.
Sometimes, a one-night stand isn't always a one-night stand. Another day might come and I will see my best friend try to suggest the same thing again saying she will never find out. And, if sex is my weakness, and I can't resist that temptation, it would happen again and again until it becomes normal between us. It isn't the right thing to do, it is wrong. It becomes worse when I keep doing something wrong over and over again because I cannot resist the temptation.
I know better than to believe that a one-night stand cannot lead to pregnancy. Let's assume we used protection, it fails sometimes. And, when that is the situation and I find out I am pregnant, do I intend to share the news with my best friend's partner? Do I want to tell him that the one-night stand got me pregnant? When that happens, I also have to think about how that action affects my best friend's home. I wouldn't want to traumatize my best friend emotionally or break her home.
There are many things to consider before accepting to do a thing like that. It appears that the bad outweighs the good, which is just a 5-minute experience.
As bad as it sounds, it shouldn't be weighing at all, because life has a way of making us experience what we do to others, sometimes in the most tragic way possible. People call it Karma, which I cannot escape.
I would have loved to share an original photo, but I have none hehe. Please bear with me. Thank you for reading my opinion on this topic.
