I admit I haven't heard many songs that mention friendship in a positive tone these last few years. The ones I can remember are classics already. Two that I can mention from the top of my head:

• That's what friends are for by Dionne Warwick
• Amigo by Roberto Carlos. This is a Latin song in which the singer talks about a friend who has been there in both good and bad.
