Former No 1 Roger Federer has advanced to the third round of the French open after defeating Croatia's Marin Cilic in a heated clash
The 39 year old Swiss came out victorious after regaining composure to see off Cilic 6-2 2-6 7-6 (7-4) 6-2 at Paris
Federer who is playing his first grand slam in 16 month after been out due to injury is seeking to add to the number of his grand slams.
His victory against the Croatian sees him join Novak Djokovic in the third round of the tournament
