Because of the way I grew up, the only SALMON I ever had was canned, used by my mama to make
"Salmon Croquettes" patties
Pan fried and disgusting, so that now I cannot stand the SMELL of Salmon cooking.
I've recently started back making my own Tuna Salad, using "Solid White Albacore" canned tuna.
That is very tasty the way I fix it.
Your smoked tuna/salmon sounds like I could give it a try @jlsplatts.
