Some of you may recall that along with being an all-round great guy!

and a very talented piano player

I am also a CNA "Certified Nursing Assistant", although with all the medical stuff I've endured in the last 24 months, I can no longer pull that duty in most situations.
From 2009-2016 I lived in the basement of my niece's home, where she is/was the primary caregiver for her Quadriplegic husband.
I was the backup caregiver.
I still am, so today I went and stayed with him while she got some time off to go to a DAR meeting. (Daughters of the American Revolution, several of our ancestors were granted large tracts of land in Georgia for serving in the Revolutionary Army... but I digress)
I did some walking around taking photos while he didn't need my immediate attentions.

These are called "Spanish Bayonets"

When we moved into the house in 2009, they were on the hillside between their house and the neighbor's house.
My niece did not like them, and asked me to cut them down.
I cannot stand killing something, so I did the next best thing, I dug up as much of the roots as I could (those leave are called bayonets for a reason, and they leave a toxin if you get stuck) and took them back into this area between this development and the next.
I simply covered the roots with leaves; you can't kill these things.

This was the scene at the bottom of the hill in 2014.
This is it now

That table had been taken apart and left by the street for the trash people to haul away, I brought the parts home, put them together, painted them, and made use of it mainly as a plant stand for years.

When I moved away in '16, I knew it would be thrown away, and even though it had significant rot, at considerable effort I took it down to my neighbors bottom, where it still sits quietly fading into the leaves.

I got a couple of squirrel nests.
(betcha didn't know squirrels made nests in trees)

So last May, I had my right hip replaced. It was a great thing, only I contracted a "Nosocomial Urinary Tract Infection" which took 4 months to clear up with strong antibiotics.
Only to find that now I have MRSA in my bladder.
Therefore unlike all my past interactions with my neice's husband, today I had to wear gloves any time I was around him or dealing with his food or meds.
Didn't have to do much of that, just empty his

and pee 8etdug.pngbags.
Still waiting on my own diagnosis, how am I going to move forward through this?
