For two years, I've been growing my hair out, because I like it long, but mainly to donate to Locks of Love, an organization that makes wigs for children who are getting cancer treatments (and have lost their hair for other reasons I assume)
Been dragging it out because I like my hair, but it is a lot of trouble and it is HOT.
I can't wear it down, un braided or not in a pony tail, so why am I keeping it?
I called the chain where I've had my hair cut for YEARS, explained that I wanted to cut my hair as a donation: do you guys do that now?
"No, Great Clips won't let us do that, you will have to take your ponytail after it is cut and send it on yourself"
Ah well, I'll be right there.
I checked in online and drove there.
There were only TWO employees in the place, I spoke to one of them.
Do you think that one would have told the other I was coming in and what for? I made the mistake of ASS-uming they did.
But alas, I sat down, the lady (who has CUT MY HAIR the last time I was there to get the split ends off, and to whom I had EXPLAINED about donating my hair a couple of months ago) proceeded to unbraid my hair.

Inside alarm bells were going off. But it wasn't until she SNIPPED about half way down the length, that I KNEW two years of my life growing out this mess was wasted.

I will NEVER go back to Great Clips again.
I picked up the longest of what she had cut from the floor and walked out.
I went to another place, not part of a chain and had them do ↑this↑ to my hair.
