Do things really repeat? Is life cyclical? I'm biased because I believe they do. Not identically, but mimics like I've never seen before.
The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun. Ecclesiastes 1:9 King James Version (KJV)
With President Donald J. Trump's impeachment imminent tonight or tomorrow and looking back through the annals of time it tells us that on December 19, 1998, the then-President William J. Clinton was impeached as well.
On December 19, 1998, Clinton became the second American president to be impeached (the first being Andrew Johnson, who was impeached in 1868) when the House formally adopted articles of impeachment and forwarded them to the United States Senate for adjudication. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Impeachment_of_Bill_Clinton
How will that affect the U.S. Stock market? it's pure conjecture at this point because in 1998 as you can see by the chart the market was already poised for an upward move. Today, looking at the chart below, and realizing that the Federal Reserve is manipulating the free markets with injections in to the Repo market there is no end-in-sight to this monkey show we call the Dow Jones Industrial Average, e.g. the equity market.
Time will tell because the past is always 20/20.
