I almost forgot... and actually, this is the first one I've remembered!
Here is Brick...
Brick was born in my brother's garage. My brother's mama cat got out and the neighborhood Maine Coon got down to business.
Kitten Brick was especially cute.
You can see why I scooped him up right away, eh?
And good thing, because the next day something attacked the kittens still there and killed all but one :(
I took him in as well, but I think he had brain damage, honestly. He couldn't maintain his own body heat and I had to keep him wrapped up with Brick to stay warm. He lived a few days, but didn't survive. So Brick was the sole survivor of that litter.
He's 9 years old now.
He's 3 in this photo:
And don't even try to keep him indoors. I know some people think that cats should never be outdoor animals but it's just too big of a draw for him, he will trip you and kill you trying to get out the door. I learned years ago to not fight it. We've only ever lived two places where I fought to keep him inside because one was too close to the highway and one... too many coyotes.
Here he was when we lived in Fort Myers FL a couple years ago. Sporting his summer fur coat.
He's a little more fluffy here, but even this isn't his full winter coat. I'll have to try to get a good photo of him in a couple months to show you how huge he gets with all his extra fur :)
And here he is all snuggled up with Fat Donald :) We'll save Fat Donald for next Saturday.
