Hello creative people from the end of the week....

After a long time of confinement we began to go out to the streets to meet with others, we have lost a little fear of social contact, step by step we are creating meetings to feel close, support each other in difficult situations and even give each other a big hug.

A population of parents and children in great need of these meetings are those where there are children or young people with disabilities (autism, intellectual disability, cerebral palsy among other conditions) who are cared for, have remained locked up at home, this makes them suffer the confinement more than others, because little understand why this situation.

Many of them have a daily routine, which includes going to the educational institution, to their sports or therapeutic activities, spending most of the day out of the house, receiving the attention required for their well-being.

When they are locked up, they suffer a lot, get upset, get tired of being at home, or simply lose their progress in therapy, due to non-attendance with specialists, parents in the best of cases follow the guidance given, but lack patience and technique.

After a year of confinement, periodic meetings are being held, respecting biosecurity norms. These meetings are allowing the children and families to carry out recreational and therapeutic activities in order to start a new routine.

This Weekend

This time I had the fortune to accompany a group of families in a recreational activity, families who meet to get out of confinement and return to therapeutic support meetings for their children and for them too.

So, I invited my teacher and my group of biodanza partners, considering that biodanza is one of those activities of integrative, affective and therapeutic action, because it uses music to create internal and external movements that contribute to organic regeneration.

The activity was in Guatire, a town about 45 minutes from Caracas, where most of us live, so we met early at a point, to go down to the meeting.

We went down with many expectations, thinking about what we would find when we arrived, many of the companions had not dealt with children with disabilities.

When we arrived we were very well attended, we made a big round, at first with a lot of distance because with the biosecurity measures the round was huge.

They were asked to hold hands and the round was reduced, even with fear of being very close, however, at the time of starting the activity, we all forgot about the mouth covers, they saw each other and felt the hugs, kisses, caresses, in short, the music transmuted everything that could cause fear.

The music took you to a level of intimacy, of recognizing the heartbeat of the other and matching it with your own heartbeat, I felt at that moment that we were one heart, beating for the same feeling.

As well as this experience, there were other experiences of playing with body sounds, because we are instruments, percussion and wind.

After an hour of work we arrived at the end and we shared food and talked about the experience. Although many parents had already left, those who stayed to talk expressed how beautiful it was to feel the heart and to meet in this beautiful activity of connection with the self.

I felt very satisfied with what I had achieved, in a very short time I will also be in front of a biodanza class, which requires a lot of group power, commitment, confidence in my abilities and creativity.

This weekend was one of much learning, of beautiful looks, of reunions, of words that strengthen, of hugs that nourish, a weekend to celebrate.

After this sharing, the group of companions escaped to continue the day at a nearby river, to close the weekend adventure.
With much emotion I say goodbye until another time.
