The Science

Basically, silver carries a positive charge, and bacteria and fungus are negative (go figure). The silver is attracted to the bacteria or fungus, breaks its cell wall and the bacteria is destroyed before it has a chance to reproduce. Authors opinion

Understanding the anti-bacterial and anti-fungal benefits of silver myself, leading to my choosing this product as my subject, I ask, why hadn't we thought of this before. All thumbs up! I see the price as reasonable and I hope they can stick to that range. As for claims in reducing laundry times, silver does not do that. Our skin sheds dead skin cells into our bedding, attracting dust mites and silver has no effect on this, or anything other than bacteria, fungus and virus. I wash my sheets for more reasons than that.

Silver is a precious metal and traded on the open market as a natural resource. That price can change drastically in short periods of time which in turn would be reflected in its end products.
