Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes la hermosa experiencia que viví durante el día con mis pequeños alumnos de preescolar. Fue un día verdaderamente magnífico, lleno de curiosidad, creatividad y muchas sonrisas.
Today I want to share with you the wonderful experience I had with my little preschool students. It was a truly magnificent day, filled with curiosity, creativity, and lots of smiles.
Durante el momento de la actividad independiente, trabajamos el descubrimiento de los colores secundarios, específicamente cómo obtener el color verde mezclando el amarillo y el azul.
During independent activity time, we worked on discovering secondary colors, specifically how to get the color green by mixing yellow and blue.
Para captar la atención de los niños y motivarlos, iniciamos la clase contando un divertido cuento:
To catch the children's attention and motivate them, we started the class by telling a fun story:
Resulta que había un lindo conejito que tenía muchísimo hambre y quería comerse una rica zanahoria. Se fue muy emocionado al huerto a buscarla, pero cuando llegó allá, se dio cuenta de algo terrible: ¡que la zanahoria no tenían color! Al regresar a su cueva a buscar pintura verde y anaranjada para arreglarlas, descubrió que no le quedaba color verde . El conejito se puso muy triste... ¡así que les pidió ayuda a los niños para descubrir cómo conseguir el color verde y poder pintar sus zanahorias.
It turns out there was a cute little bunny who was very hungry and wanted to eat a delicious carrot. He went to the garden very excited to look for it, but when he got there, he realized something terrible: the carrot had no color at all! When he went back to his cave to look for green and orange paint to fix it, he discovered he had no green paint left. The little bunny became very sad... so he asked the children for help to figure out how to get the color green and be able to paint his carrots!
Les expliqué a mis niños que para ayudar al conejito solo necesitábamos dos colores mágicos: el amarillo y el azul .
I explained to my students that to help the bunny we only needed two magic colors: yellow and blue.

Below, I show the detailed steps we followed to paint the carrot:
1 Cada niño recibió una hoja con la figura de la zanahoria dibujada a lápiz para definir sus partes (el cuerpo y las hojas).
1 Each child received a sheet of paper with the outline of a carrot drawn in pencil to define its parts (the body and the leaves).
2 Con ayuda del pincel y las acuarelas, los niños comenzaron aplicando los primeros trazos de color azul sobre las hojas de la zanahoria.
2 With the help of a paintbrush and watercolors, the children started applying the first strokes of blue color onto the leaves of the carrot.
3 A continuación, lavaron ligeramente el pincel y tomaron el color amarillo para aplicarlo directamente sobre la capa de color azul que acababan de pintar.
3 Next, they gently washed their paintbrush and picked up the yellow color to apply it directly over the layer of blue color they had just painted.
4 con suaves pinceladas, comenzaron a integrar ambos colores. ¡Fue ahí cuando ocurrió la magia! Vieron con asombro cómo la combinación del azul y el amarillo se transformaba instantáneamente en un hermoso color verde.
4 With gentle brushstrokes, they began to blend both colors together. That was when the magic happened! They watched in amazement as the combination of blue and yellow instantly turned into a beautiful green color.
5 Por último, usaron sus colores para completar el cuerpo de la zanahoria y dejar su trabajo listo.

Los niños estuvieron super felices durante todo el proceso ,les encantó pintar y experimentar con las acuarelas .
The children were super happy throughout the whole process; they loved painting and experimenting with watercolors.
Actividades como esta no solo les enseñan la teoría del color de forma práctica y divertida, sino que también estimulan la motricidad fina , la imaginación y el amor por el aprendizaje
Activities like this not only teach them color theory in a practical and fun way, but also stimulate fine motor skills, imagination, and a love for learning.
