Laptops Users
A friend asked me to have a look at their laptop, the issue is that the wifi dongle doesn't work, never has. The reason the dongle was bought years ago is because "the laptop doesn't have wifi". OK, time to fire it up and see what windows 7 is doing. Upon starting the laptop this is what I see, only a few updates to install.
I wasn't quite expecting this many to be installed, I also notice that there is a standard wifi symbol on the F2 key, hmmm. I had held the user in a higher PC knowledge state than this laptop would suggest. No matter, I will have a look shortly, as updates are installing at the moment.
This does serve as good reminder that updates should be applied when they come out as they will include security and system updates. Hence, whenever I look at a pc I look to see in there are any outstanding updates to be applied. This machine beat me to it for the Microsoft ones, I will have a look at the manufacturers site once it has finished with these.
