Batman

The second part in the new direction for the Batman franchise, this trilogy brought back Batman. Some of the previous movies left a lot to be desired. Enough about the other movies, onto this one.

The Dark night is set just after Batman begins, there is a new police Lieutenant, and a new district attorney. The two of them are doing a good job of rounding up the criminals in Gotham. This of course presents an opportunity for the right type of criminal to come forth, enter the Joker.

The Joker is introduced to us from the very beginning, the mastermind behind a robbery on a mob bank. This is where the seed is set that he is not your average run of the mill bank robber, hmm what else is he going to do?

In order to protect the Mob's money their account has moved all of the remaining funds in the other banks to a location only he knows, The account has also fled back to Hong Kong, out of the jurisdiction of Gotham law. Batman goes to Hong Kong and brings him back of course. This is where the Joker offers to kill Batman for half of the Mobs money.

In order to get to Batman, the Joker begins killing innocent people and promises to do so unless the Batman turns himself in. After a very short period the Batman decides to turn himself in at a press conference held by the district attorney. Only the district attorney announces that he is Batman, time for the Joke to come out and play.

The Joker who has no boundaries, decides not to kill Batman as he is having far too much fun as Batman is "truly incorruptible", and is enjoying the battle between them. The Joker compares this battle to an "unstoppable force hitting an immovable object".

Heath Ledger does an amazing job as the Joker, this is of course assisted with a good story line, excellent directing and the other cast members also delivering exceptional performances. This is a must see movie as it goes deeper than just an action movie.
