A Hitchcock Masterpiece
I know I said I like Hitchcock, and I do, if you want to see him at his finest, then you should watch this movie. It is arguably one of the best films that he made. He did make quite a few good movies.
What do you do when you have a broken leg, are stuck in your apartment, and your profession is a photojournalist? Easy you use your binoculars to watch the neighbours while waiting for your nurse or your girlfriend to visit.
This is what we find James Stewart doing, only thing is that you can start to give each one of your neighbours roles and character names based on what you see. A number of the neighbours aren't very interesting, we do however have a travelling salesman whom is married to a nagging wife, she does a lot of nagging.
How much nagging can someone take? Well only so much it seems, as one day while James Stewart is still laid up he observes his neighbour pull down the blinds. A few moments latter the nagging has stopped, all of a sudden, maybe even permanently.
This is the conclusion that James draws from what he has seen. The question is, is he right or just bored with an overactive imagination? I won't say anymore for those that haven't seen the movie.
If you like suspense, and want to see a master at work, then watch this movie. It shows what can be done without having to rely on special effects.
