Get jailed for a crime you haven't committed
Set in the year 2054 A.D. where crime has virtually eliminated from Washington D.C.. This is largely in part to a new elite policing squad called "Precrime". They use three gifted psychics, two brothers and the sister.
These three are kept in isolation and refereed to as "Pre-Cogs". Combined they have a unique power to see into the future and witness events right up to the moment where a crime would have been committed. They do not however usually "see" the crime.
John Anderton (Tom Cruise) heads up the "Precrime" division of the police department and believes in the system. That is until he is predicted to commit murder, where by his squad tries to arrest him. From that point he is on the run from his own elite squad and learns that the system may not be perfect after all, now to get the proof.
The movie is not quite a typical Hollywood movie, it is still fast paced with plenty of action sequences. However, it is quite thought provoking. Tom Crusie does some very good work in this movie. Speilberg is also very good as the director and brings creative visual effects plus an interesting story that covers all the bases. The ending is especially good, so definitely worth watching.
On a side note, I wonder if AI (artificial intelligence) could also be used to predict crime to the same extent, and how far would the authorities go in order to use this for the "greater" good of general public? Especially when it could be linked to facebook, chat groups, city surveillance cameras, bank accounts, etc.
