Who doesn't like Hugh Jackman?
Fast forward to 2029 and there are almost no mutants left on the planet, for some reason they seem to have died off. I have my own theory as to what the writers have in mind. It is hinted at in a few parts in the movie, more on that later.
Logan's self healing powers are fading, it is taking him longer to heal. This is shown by him ageing, and his claws don't quite pop like they used to. The school for mutants is also no more, Logan earns some money by being a chauffeur. Everyone seems to be just waiting for it all to end.
Life isn't quite that simple, a young girl named Laura appears on the scene. She is a young mutant, with the same characteristics that Logan has, attitude, temper, fighting ability and of course self healing.
Laura has escaped from what appears to be a secret organisation where Logan's DNA was used to create her. This organisation of course wants her back. Now the race is on, get the girl to safety, and out run the pursuers, if they can. The girl isn't the only one the organisation made with Logan's DNA. There is a fight scene where Logan is fighting a younger version of himself.
This movie while being a Hollywood action blockbuster doesn't quite follow the typical good guys win scenario. Yes, the girls manages to escape. Logan however, isn't quite so lucky. If you like the X-Men, watch this movie.
Back to my theory on why the mutants are gone. I would not be surprised if after the ALL the artificial, sweeteners, preservatives, genetically modified foods, etc are gone that the mutants make a come back. Keeping this in mind, it would also not surprise me if Logan himself came back after all the toxins are out of his body. The metal in him may not be as toxic as he thinks.
