British Comedy and Action

This was made back in 1998, and help propel Jason Statham, and Vinnie Jones into Hollywood and world wide audiences. The budget for this film was around $1.35 million, it did very well at the cinema's pulling in about $28 million.

Here we have four guys heavily in debt after a very crooked card game with one of the local crime bosses. Our lads overhear their neighbours in the next flat planning to hold up a group of out-of-their-depth drug growers. Hence they decide to rob their neighbours after they have robbed the drug growers so that they can pay off their debt.

A bunch of guys venturing into theft from a group of amateur criminals who are planning on robbing some actual professional drug growers. Dare I even ask what could possibly go wrong? Add into this another side story involving a pair of antique double-barrelled shotguns that go missing during a completely different scam.

Yes, this lends itself to a lot of comedy, and it is quite well done. Add to this that there isn't actually a lot of violence and we have a film that is quite fun to watch.
