Shorting stocks?
As you would expect from a Hollywood James Bond movie, here the good guys always win. This doesn't always mean that the entire crew on the side of good do survive, and Hollywood are developing some twists and turns, in short there is a lot more grey.
In this movie I believe we have James Bond going on his first mission with his 00 status (license to kill). The bad guy is Le Chiffre who is an investment broker guaranteeing high returns for money invested with him. His main clients are those that aren't interested in the "details" or legalities of his investments and therefore his funds come from the world's terrorists. Probably not people whose money you would want to loose. So when Bond foils a plan by Le Chiffre where he shorted a companies stock, and then was going to destroy their prototype, which would have caused the stock to plummet. Le Chiffre setups a high stakes poker game.
This poker game is to be held at Montenegro, where Le Chiffre must win back the money he lost. If he fails then his clients will demand answers in their own special way. Bond's boss M decides to send Bond to the poker game. M also sends a treasury employee Vesper Lynd along to watch the money. Can Bond defeat Le Chiffre? Even if he does will he and Vesper Lynd remain safe?
This is one area where the grey comes into play, if you haven't seen the movie and do like Bond movies you should watch this.
