Electric 4WD
The Bollinger vehicle is an electric 4WD with some interesting specifications, brief list below.
- Two electric motors - 360 HP (268 kW) and 472 lb-ft (640 Nm)
- Either a 60 kWh or a 100 kWh battery option
- Range of 120 Mi (193 km) or 200 (321 km) with the larger battery
- Weight 4,000 lb (1,800 kg) - I assume that is with the smaller battery
- A two speed Hi/Lo range gearbox
- Locking front and rear differentials
- Length 150" (3,810 mm), fairly short, might even fit in my non standard garage
- Width 76.5" (1,943 mm)
- Height 73.5" (1,867 mm)
It also has the majority of panels and a fair portion of the body made from Aluminum. There is some steel, which is mainly used for roll over protection. This should make for a very capable off road vehicle.
Inside the truck the back to basics approach has also been kept, this makes it clean and simple. It does remind me of the Landrover Defender.
They are also making a four door version, which is the one I would be interested in. I can however see one main problem with it at the moment, no statement about selling it here in Australia, yet.
The website does however allow you to "reserve" a vehicle without any money down, and no obligation, very tempting. There seems to a "standard" list of countries available for selection on the reservation page including Australia. I suspect that the list is probably more countries than they will actually sell in.
