Nobility is the Sci Fi series you've never heard of that stars everyone you've ever heard of.
I was browsing through Amazon Prime earlier today looking for a new series to watch when I came across something that really caught my eye.

Nobility.
The picture on IMDb shows a spaceship like something out of Babylon 5.
The cover on Amazon shows a group of people standing around with blue outfits on and they look almost identical to the crew of the Battlestar Galactica.
Sounds intriguing right?
Who's in it?
Look at all of those cast members.

He plays the captain and he also has a starring role on the Sci Fi series The Expanse.Walter Koenig
He plays the engineer and if you don't know who he is then you probably haven't seen much Sci Fi. Needless to say he plays Chekov on the Original Star Trek series and the movies and he also plays a starring role in Babylon 5 as Alfred Bester.Doug Jones
He plays Dr. Allard and has a starring role on the upcoming Star Trek TV series called Discovery.Torri Higginson
She plays the commander and also Dr. Elizabeth Weir on Stargate Atlantis.James Kyson

What's it about?
Well first of all it's only 3 episodes long and the episodes are all less than 20 minutes each.
The plot is also a little strange but it seems to involve getting a new crew member who is an alien race sent to Earth's flagship Nobility.
It looks like there is supposed to be some kind of documentary taking place and they want to have someone from his race involved.
Shortly after arriving on the ship, however, the crew is forced to go investigate some sort of energy field disturbance.
Something like that.
After that it's plot, intrigue, fighting, space exploration, etc......
It's basically like Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, and Babylon 5 all mixed together.
That sounds amazing. Is it possibly as cool as it sounds?
Well here's where it gets a little bit weird.
The whole does not seem greater than the sum of its parts despite Aristotle's best intentions here.
Every character does a decent job acting.
However, no one actually seems to get it right and it almost seems like no one really has any idea what they're doing in this show.
Although all three episodes take place on the Starship Nobility....... it really looks as if they are actually taking place in two separate exercise rooms that have been cushioned with mats and chairs.
Was there no available budget for the set despite all of the well known Science Fiction actors?
Maybe they had already spent all their money on hiring the cast.
The fighting also does not appear to be choreographed and just seems like people barely tapping each other.
The characters all act nonchalant and I think that's the appeal the show supposed to have. The crew of this ship just does whatever and doesn't seem to care too much about law and order.
The captain is sleeping with one of the crew members and if anything acts a lot like McLean Stevenson acted on Mash.
They seem to be trying to mix comedy and Sci Fi in a way that doesn't really work.
Having said that....... those are just the first 3 episodes and supposedly there are many more episodes planned.
Also in case you didn't get it........ I really like this show.
Sure there's some issues with the set not being perfect and with the cast not completely comfortable with their roles yet..... but with any luck those things will be ironed out soon.
Nobility could be the new Sci-Fi space adventure that you look forward to watching every week.
