No, it's good. Like I said, your being honest about it. And it is good to find out where the actual problem lies.

Hive is not Steem. The community structure is different. Appics really is a Steem dapp. Appics has 100k delegation on Steem, practically none on Hive. On Hive, people value Ecency and Dapplr more, even though Appics might be more of the modern Social media feel. But they haven't posted here for over 2 months. Btw.. you know this. Your Dapplr video got a massive payout.

The Appics discussion goes much deeper than that and is a whole other discussion in its own right.

I don't think you have to sell out. Especially not if it makes you miserable.

The biggest problem is you admitting that you don't come here to consume content when you're bored. That:

  • proves there currently somehow is a disconnect between you and Hive
  • means there isn't enough content in your niche/that you find interesting
  • could lead to people alienating you for not reinvesting/losing interest in the community
Whether these 3 points are fair or not, it does play a role. Btw, I also love the fact you are at honest about it, because many others aren't.

The humanization of the platform has always been an issue. But if you consider yourself an influencer on this platform, you should be the one creating those serendipitous moments. You are actually one of the people that can pull it off.
