My name is Jimena and I currently live in Hong Kong.
Mostly about stories full of magical realism, where my characters travel through time, meet monsters, monologue in their heads battling their darkness…
I also blog, and some people think the things I say are hilarious.
As a result, I’m never sure what to answer to the question “so… what do you write about?”
Talk to me about aliens. About dragons, elves. About mysteries and spooky legends, about myths and rituals. History, art, music. Thinking, imagining, creating. Spirituality, miracles, energy, transcending. Talk to me about what’s sacred and what brings all your demons out. The things that scare you, the things you love, those that you don’t understand. You name it, I’m in.
I like to say I am an illustrator, but I just am passionate about imagining worlds and people and creatures and bringing them to life on paper. I am not Leonardo, but I have my own style.
I have this permanent thirst for learning, I get inspired by other artists, by everything that happens around me, so I am constantly reinventing myself.
I drink coffee, a lot of coffee. I also drink tea and chocolate milk. Strawberry milk too. Sometimes wine, Malbec. Other times, Cabernet.
Argentinean. Multicultural. In love with diversity.
And above all, I am my very special self from my Other World.
Especialmente historias llenas de realismo mágico, donde mis personajes viajan a través del tiempo, se encuentran con monstruos, crean monólogos en sus cabezas mientras batallan su oscuridad.
También blogueo, y algunas personas piensan que las cosas que digo son graciosísimas.
Entonces, nunca estoy demasiado segura de qué responder cuando me preguntan” ¿y acerca de qué escribís?”
Háblenme de aliens. De dragones, de elfos. De misterios y de leyendas que asustan, acerca de mitos y rituales. Historia, arte, música. De pensar, imaginar y crear. De espiritualidad, milagros, energía, trascendencia. Hablenme acerca de lo sagrado y de lo que hace que tus demonios internos salgan a la luz. Las cosas que les asustan, las cosas que aman, las que no entienden. Háblenme, y yo ya estaré allí.
A mí me gusta decir que soy ilustradora, pero la verdad es que tan solo soy una apasionada de mundos imaginarios y de personajes y criaturas a los cuales me animo a darles vida en papel. No soy Leonardo, pero tengo mi propio estilo. Y tengo esta sed permanente de aprender, de caer en la inspiración que me dan otros artistas, que me da todo lo que ocurre a mi alrededor… y así estoy constantemente reinventándome a mí misma.
Tomo café. Mucho café. Pero también bastante té. Y leche chocolatada. O de frutilla. Algunas veces Malbec, y otras Cabernet.
Argentina. Multicultural. Enamorada de la diversidad.
Y por sobre todas las cosas, soy mi muy especial yo, de mi otro Mundo.
