This is a little trick I set up a while ago that I feel other people might want to use. It’s extremely easy and delivers a notification to your phone each time you get a new deposit in any of your ETH wallets. Super handy and something that almost seems like it should be baked into the Ethereum ecosystem by default.
Ethereum as a cryptocurrency is pretty much the #1 best option currently for balancing between a solid actual currency, and the “next generation” of a greater blockchain-based computation platform (with the fancy trimmings of smart contracts, automation etc. etc.), but for a futuristic universal network-based cryptographically-secured wallet system, it’s somehow woefully lacking in simple all-in-one solutions for as simple tasks as, you know, letting you know when you get paid.
So without further ado, here’s a 5-minute fix to deliver you a notification straight to your phone as soon as any ether wallet of your choosing receives Ether — no coding, no logins, no wizardry necessary.
Add the TXHASH notification applet on IFTTT (you’ll have to sign up for this too — I know I know, more signups, I promise it’s smooth sailing after this. Honestly this is a sweet app everyone and their mother should have anyway)
Select your ETH address under the drop-down. Then download the IFTTT app on your phone.
Now anytime you get a new Ether deposit, you’ll know as soon as it hits your wallet. This actually works for Bitcoin and Litecoin wallets too, so have at it.
