Circus Fest First Edition

Last Saturday, starting at eight in the morning, the first edition of Circus Fest took place, an event focused on the entire Barquisimeto Geek community and with a circus theme.

El pasado sábado, a partir de las ocho de la mañana, se llevó a cabo la primera edición del Circus Fest, un evento enfocado a toda la comunidad Geek de Barquisimeto y con temática circense.

The participating entrepreneurs and artists began to set up their stands very early in the morning. The headquarters of the UCV Barquisimeto was the chosen scenario for this first edition of an event that was very well organized. The owner of the online store Frikx Chisp was the organizer along with her team, who made sure that everything went as planned.

Many stands selling products, accessories, photos, posters, video games, collectible figures. The attendees had a lot of fun. Many products at good prices, within everyone's reach. There were also T-shirts for sale, cosplay accessories and of course a section with food for sale since the event would last until five in the afternoon and those who spent the whole day, could eat there.

Los emprendedores y artistas participantes comenzaron a montar sus stands desde muy temprano. La sede del núcleo UCV Barquisimeto fue el escenario escogido para esta primera edición de un evento que estuvo muy bien organizado. La dueña de la tienda online Frikx Chisp fue la organizadora junto a su equipo, quienes se encargaron de que todo saliera como estaba previsto.

Muchos puestos de venta de productos, accesorios, fotos, pósters, videojuegos, figuras coleccionables. Los asistentes disfrutaron mucho. Muchos productos a buen precio, al alcance de todos. También había venta de camisetas, accesorios de cosplay y por supuesto una sección con comida a la venta ya que el evento duraría hasta las cinco de la tarde y los que pasaran todo el día, podrían comer allí.

I arrived around one o'clock in the afternoon, I was a little late and the time flew by. I missed a lot of cosplays to take pictures of them, but I was able to visit all the booths and take note of their instagram pages because there are several things I liked, but that day I had no money in my account. I especially liked some of the flannels.

There was a video game area where they also had a small tournament. You couldn't miss the Random Dance Cover section and the presentation of dance groups that delighted the audience with their spectacular choreographies.

Llegué sobre la una de la tarde, llegué un poco tarde y el tiempo se me pasó volando. Me perdí muchos cosplays para hacerles fotos, pero pude visitar todos los stands y tomar nota de sus páginas de instagram porque hay varias cosas que me gustaron, pero ese día no tenía dinero en mi cuenta. Me gustaron especialmente algunas de las franelas.

Había una zona de videojuegos donde también tenían un pequeño torneo. No podía faltar la sección Random Dance Cover y la presentación de grupos de baile que deleitaban al público con sus espectaculares coreografías.

I could see other familiar faces from other similar events. Everyone was having a great time, sharing, chatting, taking pictures, watching the prepared shows and buying products.

The place is quite big and so they had the capacity for many entrepreneurs to be there.

Among the different stands, there were also those of artists. Both geek artists and many cartoonists had the opportunity to show and sell their art. Some were creating new art right there and participated in a contest in which they received recognition.

Pude ver otras caras conocidas de otros eventos similares. Todo el mundo se lo estaba pasando muy bien, compartiendo, charlando, haciéndose fotos, viendo los espectáculos preparados y comprando productos.

El lugar es bastante grande y por eso tenían capacidad para que estuvieran muchos emprendedores.

Entre los diferentes stands, también estaban los de artistas. Tanto los que hacen arte geek como muchos dibujantes, tuvieron la oportunidad de mostrar y vender su arte. Algunos estaban creando arte nuevo allí mismo y participaron en un concurso en el que recibieron reconocimiento.

There was a raffle where the winner was chosen by taking one of the flyers that were distributed for three months, a young woman known within the community was the lucky winner who received gifts from several participating brands.

Something I liked was that they had an ideal area for us to take pictures of the cosplayers. Everything was decorated in a circus style. The color red was predominant and there I was able to take pictures of several of the young cosplayers who attended. I really enjoy taking pictures of the cosplayers, it is commendable the dedication they have to create their costumes themselves. They are passionate about what they do and it shows.

Se hizo la rifa donde el ganador se elegía tomando uno de los volantes que se repartieron durante tres meses, una joven conocida dentro de la comunidad fue la afortunada ganadora que recibió regalos de varias marcas participantes.

Algo que me gustó fue que tenían una zona ideal para que pudiéramos tomar fotos de los cosplayers. Todo bajo una decoración estilo circo. Predominaba el color rojo y ahí pude tomar fotos a varios de los jóvenes cosplayers que asistieron. Disfruto mucho haciendo fotos a los cosplayers, es encomiable la dedicación que tienen para crear ellos mismos sus trajes. Sienten pasión por lo que hacen y eso se nota.

It was an event for all audiences. The whole family could go and enjoy, regardless of age. Some of us are not young but we still enjoy geek culture.

With the closing of this first edition of Circus Fest, it will be the last event of this style for the rest of the year. The organizer said goodbye to the event at five in the afternoon and invited to next year, for the second edition, because the success of this event has already given the momentum to consolidate it as a new geek event of a growing community.

Fue un evento para todos los públicos. Toda la familia podía ir y disfrutar, independientemente de la edad. Algunos de nosotros no somos jóvenes pero seguimos disfrutando de la cultura geek.

Con la clausura de esta primera edición del Circus Fest, será el último evento de este estilo en lo que queda de año. El organizador se despidió del evento a las cinco de la tarde e invitó al próximo año, para la segunda edición, pues el éxito de este evento ya ha dado el impulso para consolidarlo como un nuevo evento geek de una comunidad en crecimiento.
