Around the world with Plex

The first time I saw this guy was on Mostopapi's channel, a youtuber who does racy interviews. It was about two years ago or so. I didn't know who the fuck Plex was and wasn't interested, but I liked his answers in that interview and went to check out his channel.

There was interesting content, specifically some of the trips he did with his family. i love travel content on YouTube. There were other videos where he was goofing around with his friends, like ordering a bunch of hamburgers at McDonald's. Pranks and kid stuff. It wasn't my content, but in that same year, this kid's channel would undergo a huge explosion. He would go from being a well-known yotuber in his niche or becoming what he always wanted, a youth idol in many parts of the Hispanic world.

Not being the content I was interested in, I didn't start following him and forgot about this content creator. Some time later I saw a video of Frank Cuesta, who is currently in the middle of a big controversy for being a fake, where the famous Spaniard lambasted Plex and his friends, who had rented a Capibara to create content in his house. Frank insulted him and told him everything, I was quite amused by this video and just to be aware of this beef between yotuubers, I started to follow Plex's channel. These two became close friends, Plex would later go to Frank's sanctuary in Thailand, he went with Paconi, his manager and friend and they were videos that I loved, although they are kids and they do things for kids, I started to like them and I enjoyed those videos.

La primera vez que vi a este chaval fue en el canal de Mostopapi, un youtuber que hace entrevistas subidas de tono. Fue hace unos dos años aproximadamente. No sabía quién coño era Plex y no me interesaba, pero me gustaron sus respuestas en esa entrevista y fui a echarle un vistazo a su canal.

Había contenido interesante, concretamente algunos de los viajes que hacía con su familia. me encantan el contenido de viajes en Youtube. Había otros vídeos en los que hacía tonterías con sus amigos, como pedir un montón de hamburguesas en McDonald's. Bromas y cosas de niños. No era mi contenido, pero en ese mismo año, el canal de este chico sufriría una gran explosión. Pasaría de ser un yotuber conocido en su nicho o a convertirse en lo que siempre quiso, un ídolo de jóvenes en muchas partes del mundo hispano.

Al no ser el contenido que me interesaba, no empecé a seguirle y me olvidé de este creador de contenidos. Tiempo después vi un vídeo de Frank Cuesta, que actualmente está en medio de una gran polémica por farsante, donde el famoso español arremetía contra Plex y sus amigos, que habían alquilado una Capibara para crear contenidos en su casa. Frank lo insulto y le dijo de todo, a mi me hizo bastante gracia este video y solo para estar al tanto de este beef entre yotuubers, empecé a seguir el canal de Plex. Estos dos se hicieron muy amigos, Plex iría más tarde al santuario de Frank en Tailandia, fue con Paconi, su manager y amigo y eran vídeos que me encantaros, aunque son unos chavales y hacen cosas de chavales, me empezaron a gustar y disfruté con esos vídeos.

In the midst of all this boom and exposure on social networks, Plex and his group of friends launched the series Around the World in 80 Days. With that they broke it. The first round ended up catapulting him. They started in Africa, went to Asia. That round-the-world trip was a lot of fun and I, a gray-haired man old enough to be a father of one of those kids, was hooked, every day I looked for the video of the round-the-world trip. There were some episodes that I didn't like because they did things that kids their age would do, but others were very good.

After the success of that first around the world trip, months after finishing it, they surprised all their followers by launching “Around the World 2”. They repeated the format, visiting African countries, Asian countries, the United States and of course South America, where it was crazy. Their passage through several countries in America was crazy, the followers found out where they were staying and got there. Everyone was a celebrity, even in one episode they could do almost nothing, they spent a lot of hours taking pictures with people.

Plex has said many times that he has achieved his dream. Since he was little he always wanted to be a youtuber. There is even a video, from his early days, when he was a boy of about 14 years old, in which he assured that he would be a famous youtuber and boy, has he fulfilled his dream. After the second round of the world, he was invited to the Hormiguero, a famous program in Spain, and also participated in Ibai's soiree last year. His fight was against the Mexican ElMariana, but my favorite was Plex, who ended up winning the fight.

En medio de todo este boom y exposición en las redes sociales, Plex y su grupo de amigos lanzaron la serie La vuelta al mundo en 80 días. Con eso la rompieron. La primera vuelta acabó catapultándolo. Empezaron en África, fueron a Asia. Esa vuelta al mundo fue muy divertida y yo, un hombre canoso con edad para ser padre de uno de esos niños, estaba enganchado, todos los días buscaba el vídeo de la vuelta al mundo. Había algunos episodios que no me gustaban porque hacían cosas que de niños de su edad, pero otros eran muy buenos.

Tras el éxito de aquella primera vuelta al mundo, meses después de terminarla, sorprendieron a todos sus seguidores poniendo en marcha «La vuelta al mundo 2». Repitieron el formato, visitando países africanos, asiáticos, estados unidos y por supuesto sudamérica, donde fue una locura. Su paso por varios países de América fue una locura, los seguidores se enteraban de donde se alojaban y llegaban hasta allí. Todo el mundo era una celebridad, incluso en un episodio no pudieron hacer casi nada, se pasaron un montón de horas haciéndose fotos con la gente.

Plex ha dicho muchas veces que ha conseguido su sueño. Desde pequeño siempre quiso ser youtuber. Incluso hay un vídeo, desde sus inicios, cuando era un niño de unos 14 años, en el que aseguraba que sería un youtuber famoso y vaya si ha cumplido su sueño. Tras la segunda vuelta al mundo, fue invitado al Hormiguero, un programa famoso en España, y también participó en la velada de Ibai el año pasado. Su combate fue contra el mexicano ElMariana, pero mi favorito fue Plex, que acabó ganando el combate.
