From time to time my brother and I get to chatting about the changes our planet will undergo in the near future.
Since many scientists have come to the conclusion that the sixth mass extinction of global biodiversity of species has begun. As is well known, our beautiful planet has experienced 5 mass extinctions before. Which were originating new life, of course millions must die first and this time we humans will be the main actors of this act. Because thanks to our intervention all this is taking place faster than it should.

It's strange, I was just watching an episode of "The Secret X-Files" titled "The Sixth Extinction" when I found these WEEKEND-ENGAGEMENT questions. That's why I went for option 3

3️⃣ 250 years
Explain what you believe our world and society may be like in 250 years from today. How has humanity progressed or regressed, what's the financial situation, how has the environment coped or changed with the passing of 250 years and what technologies have we gained or lost. Is humanity better off now or then? Explain your answer. You can write a fiction if you like, or give us your personal views.

After human intervention with our planet in environmental matters, everything was destroyed. Some people think that humanity deserved it because of their narcissistic selfishness.
I am one of the few who believe that within the garbage there are wonderful people who did not deserve to die for the sins of others.
Cities gave way to megacities in order to achieve sustainability and a better economy. But it was a resounding failure and the reasons were the following:

Pollution reached a level that was impossible to reverse.
Pollinating insects disappeared and this caused our food reserves to decrease drastically.
The seas were also affected and with it the fishing industry disappeared completely.
Agriculture declined due to infertile soils.
Livestock farming, which contributed tons of carbon dioxide to our environment, is now history. Cattle are now practically impossible to see, around here they kill domestic animals for food, that's the only way to get meat.
My only friend is Rex, my dog, who accompanies me everywhere in this adventure called life, if you can call it that. I will not let anyone use him as food, I am willing to kill anyone who tries.
I remember they created a synthetic meat that tasted incredible and if it had prospered, just maybe the contamination would have decreased a lot. But there was a group of powerful businessmen who boycotted the project and it was all over before it started.

We destroyed the forests, we wiped out the wetland systems that supplied millions of people with fresh water. All of this led to the world economy being severely affected and the developed countries invaded the smaller ones to steal their water supplies.

Oxygen is running out, so you have to use special masks to survive. Of course, they are quite hard to get, so the fight is to the death in the streets of this metropolis. Every day many die from not being able to do something as normal as breathing.
Pandemics run their course thanks to the fragmentation of habitats.
Our technology only serves to be able to continue to exist as a species. I guess that is the only reason why there are still some of us left on this planet, but from one moment to the next not even that will be able to help us.
What can I say about money, it is simply ephemeral.
Nowadays the law of the strongest prevails, if you are not the strongest you better kill yourself my friend.

This is a fictional story, but I feel like it's going to happen in the near future. I think we will drive ourselves to extinction, a huge sadness for those still trying to overcome the effects of pollutants. Climate change will affect everyone without exception, now in 2022 that change is already perceptible. Every time I watch the news, what hurts me the most is seeing animals suffer for something that is not their fault... I may sound fatalistic, but I stopped believing in humanity's good intentions a long time ago.
