Well I guess we are gonna start seeing stories of how "EOS Mainnet scammed me" and "EOS ate my investment" articles real soon from some people who failed to register or registered incorrectly.
Those who are holding EOS coins on exchanges, their fate is still unclear (at least to me) and will be clarified as the events unfold. However, I , being the user of Binance, can confirm this that they had already announced 3 months ago that they will register the mainnet token swap and will handle all the technical requirements. Here is a screenshot for it:-
I can't say the same for bitfinex users since I don't use that exchange.
Suffice to say that I have seen a lot of people being scared and running around since they had no clue about what ERC20 token was and how this mainnet thing worked in the first place. I won't blame them since they are mere investors looking for some profit.
If you are holding EOS Tokens in exchanges, make sure to transfer them to your wallets (Myetherwallet or Metamask) to get equal amounts of token airdrops over EOS token holders in near future.
Happy EOS day...
Cheers
EOS deposits and withdrawls have been frozen by binance until the mainnet stablizes. I will write a detailed guide on “how to transfer your eos coins from exchanges to wallets when the deposit / withdrawl system resumes”.
