Here are some metal detecting treasures that I have found over the last few years. I detect in Ohio and as each box fills up, I start a new "treasure chest".
This one has a nice assortment: vintage pocketknives, gold pocket watch, 40's toy car, several rings, silver rings, one gold ring, Ohio placer gold panning flakes (yep, those are tough to find in your pan in Ohio)...security badge, a couple hundred wheat cents....and a large group of early silver and copper coins.
Oh, and a silver sports medal.
Free gold found while spending time gold panning with a good friend and listening to stories of days gone by. Take a look @goldmatters 😁
This pile of coins represents endless hours of research, miles of walking, and thousands of failed digs lol....I sell a lot of coins each year, but the ones I find detecting are keepers for life!!
These are two U.S. 2 Cent Pieces that I found detecting. One is an 1866 and the other is an 1867. These are bucket listers for all detectorists, since they were only made for a short time, plus their size made them a little harder to lose! I have many friends that are still searching for their first 2 Cent Piece after many years! I think i will try to highlight a few of my finds each week like these examples.
U.S. 2 Cent Pieces were the first United States coin to carry the "In God We Trust" motto.
Another example I found:
I have found many coins that are more rare or expensive than these 2 cent pieces, but they are among my favorite finds.
Hope that you enjoyed. I will try to highlight some other detecting treasures in future posts.
