It has a chance of being an early ohr. His works are usually signed or stamped. This one has a few clues that it is an ohr but does not have the signature. The walls are amazingly thin and strong. The glaze is spot on. The crisp defined handle is key. The form and shape is similar to other teapots. It may be a new orleans teapot made under his instruction when he taught and worked there with joseph mayer whom later ran the the famous newcomb pottery. I have several other pieces of ‘potential ohr’ that i will share in an upcoming post. I have searched high and low for his work for twenty years now. It has been an awesome journey and have learned much.
