Started listening to the audiobook Valis by phillip k. Dick last night. I had read it that fateful summer of 1992. 1992 I suppose i can say with reasonable assurance that it was the year i ‘awoke’. Read gravitys rainbow by pynchon whilst listening to early brian eno lived in the adobe house halfway down rosemary st in columbia, it was an apocalypse of self for certain. Psychosis of self with all the benchmarks of grandeur and paranoia with ideas of reference made out of proxy, i read borges labrynth also. I read so much in comparison to my faltering vision of today, i took the 5th grade speed reading class of ross elementary for real with its click click click lines of text ever increased in tempo to the point that you couldnt read it, thing is the comprehension test afterwards proved that although you believe you didnt read it your mind was able to test out as if you did. Well read suffered well, Valis is an important book as it contained certain phenomena similar to the phenomena i experienced with reading william s, burroughs ‘the ticket that exploded’ i can call it retrograde inversion retro causality, back then it was inexplicable evidence that there was a whole hell of a lot going on behind the curtains and things were certainly not what they seemed. I feel blessed that my mind broke yet was able to maintain. For those about to rock salutations. Break on thru but dont take it too personal the new moog phenomena.
