Introducing.
Like all stars, the sun is changing. This is what scientists believe will happen to it:
• several billion years from now, the sun will have a crisis. The hydrogen supply around its core will start to run out, and our star will begin to collapse. This collapse will put new energy into the core so the sun will blaze hotter than ever.

The blast of energy will force the higher gas layers outwards. The sun will become a red giant, 100 times its present diameter and 500 times brighter. The red giant will fill earth's sky. The great heat will melt the surface of the earth into seas of lava.

Eventually the sun will cool and shrink becoming a white dwarf star about the size of earth.
