I’m so sorry to hear that, @jeezzle. Bizarrely, I keep hearing that the economy is doing well. But I know so few people who feel like they are really in good shape, financially. Getting fired has to be the absolute worst!

I am personally an optimist. I just like to think that the best days are yet to come, that bad days are primarily about making us remember to be thankful the rest of the time, and that life is full of small good things, even when the big things we need or want feel as elusive as a unicorn. I am sure things will turn around for your friend.
