Hello friends, and Happy Friday. It's that great day when not only does the long work week come to an end, but we get to see markets and shops from all over the world! If you're not familiar with #MarketFriday, check out the tag. It is hosted by the lovely dswigle@dswigle.

For this post, I just had to share all the cute stuff at my local nursery. This is one of the most popular places to shop in my local area and it's really close to my house.

They always have the most delightful displays, year 'round.

It's a great place to buy perennials and annuals to plant in the spring. In the winter, the store will be festooned in lights and holiday magic. But for now, we have the lovely colors of autumn.

Do you ever wish you could just take a time machine back to the early days of the settlers coming to the U.S.? I'm sure I have completely romanticized that time in my mind, probably because of the silly way we celebrated turkeys and pumpkins and Christopher Columbus when I was a child. That has all changed now, of course, because they early settlers destroyed the lifestyle of the indigenous people, and we wizened up and realized that is nothing to celebrate. I just want to know what life was really like back in those days, and for some reason displays of pumpkins and gourds always make me think about that.

Aren't the displays just so charming? I will admit, I never buy the white pumpkins and gourds, even though they really are so cute. But you need a pile of them, like you see here, for the cuteness factor. One white pumpkin or pale green gourd is just kind of sad. (Ha ha. I'm kidding. You may not think so. I don't want to color your views! Pun intended.)

This nursery holds classes too. Or at least they did before the pandemic. I've never take one, for some reason. But after the pandemic is over, I'm going to. I want to do and see all the things and travel again and enjoy cultural activities. It's what I miss the most.

I truly love fall. It has been a gorgeous one here. I've been blessed with beautiful walks under gorgeous skies, with trees a-flame all around me in reds and oranges and yellows. I hope the warmth of those colors will stay with me through the cold winter months to come!

Well that's it for my #marketfriday post.

How to participate in Market Friday:

  1. Go to the market! Wherever you purchase goods, services, food etc. Anywhere you pay money for a service will do. (Just no drugs or anything illicit. Ha ha.)
  2. Take pictures! We want to see what markets are like where you live.
  3. Tell us a little bit about the market. Why did you go, and why do you like to shop there? (Minimum 250 words.) And be sure to add your photos.
  4. Don’t forget to add the #marketfriday hashtag and mention our host, dswigle@dswigle.
