Well I’m just about too pooped to blog! I think I put in a good 8 hours of yard work today. It’s exhausting work, involving raking, bagging, pulling out vines, filling the wheelbarrow again and again with twigs and leaves and detritus from the trees and hauling it all to our compost pile, as well as sweeping up all the crud around the fire pit and along all the paths.
But it also felt so good to be outside!
Here are a few pictures from the day. I don’t have a ton because I was working to hard to stop and take them.
First, there’s my trusty helper, Angel. Well she isn’t all that much help, to be honest, but she does provide company and moral support.
Here is one of my leaf piles. This was just the amount of leaves I raked up from one path, which is a very small portion of what I had to do.
Later on, after dark, we made a fire to burn some of the fallen branches and old vines. It was great to have the first fire of the season in our fire pit, even if it was utilitarian!
We also burned the Christmas tree which has been sitting waiting for this occasion. It was very dry and produced huge flames!
Thanks for visiting!
