Sorry for the length but there was so much to show. We start with a 46% Moon and then found a new Sunspot, which hasn't been reported yet at Raben or Spaceweather.com, but NASA's SDO does show it. In the

It should say, 'Fighting the Natural & Man-made Elements Plus a Shit Ton of Noise.' The majority of the footage edited out tonight was of this irritating noisy-ass neighborhood. I left a little tidbit

The Split Sky starts at 2:36 and the glinting white object begins at 3:18, and is there for 32 seconds but probably would've been longer if I hadn't panned away. Oh yes, and a 26% Waxing Crescent Moon

Interesting pebble effect punch-through of the Sun with the filter on. A brief recap of last night's near nothingness, and the difference between the position of the Crescent and Venus from here (41°N)

What a disappointing night. We did battle with the mucked-up sky and eventually got something but nothing like I had hoped. Sorry. 8:45-9:07pm, Thursday May 17, 2018, NE Ohio, 71°F - WNW Sky ~Jayling (Ohio

Here's hoping for good viewing tonight after the sun goes down. The 8.7% Waxing Crescent Moon should be to the left of Venus in the WNW this evening. 8:59am, Thursday May 17, 2018, NE Ohio, 70°F - ESE

After the sun sets tonight, the 3% Crescent Moon and Venus should light up the WNW sky, and then tomorrow on Thursday May 17th, they'll be even closer together. Good viewing to you! 9:44am, Wednesday May

Attempts to capture the New Moon were predictably futile, but had a go anyway. :) Venus had a tough time fighting the clouds in the WNW, eventually the camera did capture it but I never saw it by eye.

The morning begins with fog, then a few hours later storms roll in, but eventually by evening a hazy Sun burst through leading the way for Venus and Jupiter. It's being reported that a large asteroid about

Both Venus & Jupiter were higher up in the sky than I anticipated for this time of night. To the eye, Venus had an orange/white tint to it tonight. It's also a pleasant surprise that those hefty clouds

This is pretty similar to Monday night's footage, except I did try to shoot Jupiter with the Canon 80D and the Tamron 18-400mm lens (which didn't come out well), along with the Nikon P900. Jupiter is in

Sorry for the length but those old Sunspots were giving me fits trying to find them, but in doing so we found a new group of Spots coming over from the left side, along with long skid marks of white patches.

It was cool to catch the new Sunspots spring into existence. Neither Raben or SpaceWeather.com show them on their sites yet, but we got 'em. Since the last set was AR2706, we'll number these 2707.:) 12:11pm

I don't know what this is, a sphere/orb/craft/whatever, but found it when reviewing yesterday's footage. Besides being an unknown object, what struck me as odd was that it took a long 20 seconds to fly

5 luminaries tonight but couldn't wait for the 95% Moon - oh well. 8:49 to 9:20pm, Monday May 1st, 2018, NE Ohio, 70°F (the high here today was 86°F, low of 35°F) Venus in the WNW, Sirius in the SW, Arcturus

Testing of the Canon 80D with the Tamron 18-400mm lens. Lots of problems with drift. Apparently my Manfrotto tripod and Manfrotto video pan head wasn't sturdy enough for it. We start with Venus in the

I have no idea why the Full Moon was so blurry last night once it rose above the trees, but the first thing I did this morning was check the focus on the Sun without readjusting from last eve and all looked

The majority of the Full Moon rising is at 4-8x speed. Apologies for not getting video of Jupiter, I had been out for over an hour and it became too much for me, sorry. There's only a few pics of Jup in
