I totally agree with your perspective because I have experienced something similar in my own workplace. I am the kind of employee who takes my responsibilities seriously. Wherever I am assigned, I rarely complain because I believe that every task is an opportunity to learn something new. I always try my best and give my all to the work entrusted to me.However, there came a point when I became exhausted because my manager was barely doing her own work, and I ended up doing almost everything for her. During my performance evaluation, She even admitted that She had given me a very high score. She told me, “Since you came here, I don't feel as tired anymore.” Of course, that was because I was already doing most of the work he was supposed to do herself.Eventually, I decided to resign. She would often say positive things to me, which I initially appreciated, but I later realized that those compliments seemed to be a way of keeping me motivated to do more favors for her. What made the situation even more disappointing was that I raised my concerns with management, but nothing was done about it.This is one of the reasons hardworking employees eventually leave a company. Sometimes, it is not the work itself that makes people give up, but the people who take advantage of their dedication and the management that allows such behavior to continue.A company cannot expect to retain good employees if it fails to recognize the difference between genuine dedication and exploitation.Hardworking employees deserve appreciation, fair treatment, and a healthy working environment, not additional burdens simply because they are capable and willing to help.I learned that being hardworking is a good quality, but we also need to know when to set boundaries. We can be dedicated employees without allowing others to take advantage of us. At the end of the day, loyalty should never mean sacrificing our own well-being for people who are unwilling to do their fair share. Sad reality!
