Hive is a great place to be, especially if you love reading and doing things on social media, for almost everyone who is internet reached and is on social media of different sorts, and this gives everyone the leverage to also be on Hive to take advantage of the better things on here. If you've been here a while, you probably know them, however, the aim of this post is not to share them, but to bring to our notice a thought that has been on my mind.
I've been on other social media platforms and one of the things they often share about is the use of algorithms and how to tweak the algorithms to favour you, You've probably seen such notifications for TikTok, Youtube and Instagram, do you think there is anything as such on Hive?
I found an algorithm to be an Automated/AI/Human control intelligence that determines your reach and visibility on a social media platform. This can be changed based on recent happenings or trends and knowing the rhythm can affect your content positively to get more views and engagement. Many people have gone to the lengths of defying this algorithm to buy followers, likes and even subscribers, but then over time, it shows in their engagement level that it doesn't go that far way. On Hive the case is a little bit different, Even though we pretend, that no one AI or individual to help your content automatically reach new people, you would have to be your as the case is your own algorithm.
This is not to discourage anyone, but one of the things we boast of on Hive is organic reach, of which most Web2.0 platforms have been questioning to look out. The original content remains reader on hive remains indelible and your engagement level can be statistically followed by if you used peakd.
On Web2, one may even have to make ads for more reach and engagement. but do we need an algorithm on the hive, that's if we do need one.
What we have here is promotion of post available on peakd and ecency. The last time I promoted, I m not sure if I followed up one just how much visibility I gained through ecency promotion.
I'll attempt to share some tips on how you can be your algorithm right here.
I see the Hive Platform as a growing field
Your good content, consistency and character will always mark you out and earn you good progress over time. You may consider the following tips
Posting good Content gives a good vibe about who you are and how safe it is to follow you for some healthy information. People also follow based on similarities with them and when this is the case you can grow together
Joining communities should always be with a plan to contribute to the community in the long term and not just for nothing. There is gain in being a part of a community you are not active in. When you join communities, you also put yourself up for exposure within the community feeds, because every other member of your community will see your post and if it is attractive, you may win their heart for your subsequent posts.
Make Great Thumbnails: Whenever I see a great thumbnail, I am sure that I ll check out the post, seem to be somewhat across platforms, but when the thumbnail design is good, sells the post well and can bring more people to your post. hence increasing reach.
Make good comments on topics you're familiar with or share what you learned from the post. Don't just read and go, it isn't worth your reading if it isn't worth your comment. Even if it's a compliment, you add to your statistics of comments and engagements. You've got to be your ing algorithm right?
Use keywords and tags properly: Some of the ways people find the post is by searching keywords or terms and using the right tags. When your post is valuable because valuable beyond just the 7 days of curation, people can search it out and follow you up from there. Many communities and projects also have their tags and using them will put you on the map when being searched.
