MISPLACE as we all know is “to put in a wrong or inappropriate place”Merriam-webster
You cannot derive fulfillment in personal gains, self-pleasure or even acquiring earthly powers. One could sometimes end up chasing dreams or shadows of one’s life-purpose which actually leads to nowhere, because it was not their designed purpose in life.
An example of misplaced purpose is a story of a determined young man who sought to fulfill his purpose in life. This very determined young man’s great sense of patriotism of his country lead him into politics. He surrounded himself with a number of like-minded thinking men and eventually became a dominant force in the affairs of politics. His influence though negative as it were was literally felt around the world. His misplaced purpose in life was to cleanse the world of people not like him which he described as racially inferior. His regime ended up killing approximately 11 million people in World War II. Adolf Hitler’s purpose in life would have affected and changed the world for the better if it was rightly placed.
What’s your purpose in life, are you fulfilling the right purpose of your life or is it misplaced? (It’s a rhetorical question no loud answers!)
Well whatever your answer may be, know the life purpose of a mango seed is to produce a mango tree and nothing else. It cannot produce anything outside mango or else its purpose will be misplaced. The same is said to us humans. Stephen Covey once said, ”If the ladder is not leaning against the right wall, every step we take just gets us to the wrong place faster”
It is easier said than done, but have this in mind, that it all starts first with a desire and having a rightly placed purpose, then with one step forward in accomplishing that purpose. Why not start today?
Having a purpose is the difference between making a living and making a life.” –Tom Thiss
