NIGERIA Is a land of diversity in both its landscape and its people. The country Nigeria was born on 1st January 1914. But the actual sealing of the Southern and Northern protectorates to become the country Nigeria was done on 22nd November 1913 and signed by Majesty Earl Spencer, Lord Stamfordham and Lord Emmott on behalf of the government of United Kingdom of Britain and Ireland. Nigeria became a formally independent federation in 1960.
Nigeria is a land of many cultures, with the existence numerous kingdoms and tribal states over the years. The country is often referred to as the “Giant of Africa” owing to it being the most populous country in Africa and also among the 10 ten most populous country in the world.
Nigerian people are friendly and outgoing. Christianity and Islam are the two main religions in the country. In recent years people from around Africa have immigrated to Nigeria. Nigeria is also the home of Nollywood and its famous stars.
