NewPipe is an Android App that allows the users view youtube videos using the app thus we can say it is an alternative to youtube.one great feature of this app that makes it user friendly is the fact that it does not use any google framework libraries or the youtube API. However, I noticed while using the App that improvement can be made it some area by adding more features like; a button to exit the floating screen, ability to add comments and ability to refresh. And that is why I am suggesting the bellow.
Proposal
I want to propose that
The floating screen should have an ”exit button” so that users can exit the screen without having to go to full screen first before exiting the app. An exit button should be added just very close to the full screen button on the floating screen. (please see pic 1)
Add comment feature should be added to this app. This feature will allow users express their feeling about a video with comments not just by clicking on the like and the dislike button. It should be added just before the like and the dislike buttons and the number of comments that the video has received should be added in front of the comment. (please see pic 2).
Since NewPipe does not require users creating account and login in, it should be added in such a way that once a user click on the add comment, a new window will popup that will ask the users to enter their comments and preferred name they wish to be identified in the conversation, after which the user will click on post comment to add comment. (please see pic 4 and pic 3)
Add the ability to refresh video feed. This can be done in two different ways 1. By dragging the screen from up to down (please see pic 5) and by adding a refresh button. This can be added thus, from the home screen, click on the 3 dots at the top right hand side, the add the refresh button between the kiosk and about.(please see pic 6)

Benefits
The exit floating screen will help the users bypass the regards of having to launch full screen before exiting from the app. This is because just one tap on the exit button will exit the screen.
The comment feature will help users express their view and opinion about a given video
Ability to refresh will ensure that top of the video feed are the very recent videos. these features will indeed greatly benefit the users if added.
