The entire picture is not wrong, this is the type of lies and propaganda used by the US to start nearly every war it has ever fought, and to justify two decades of foreign intervention destabilizing and occupying sovereign nations in the Middle East. Just look at 9/11, the false flag that started it all, and Iraq WMDs, that was a lie too, and on and on and on. All built on lies.
Assad is a dictator.
Indeed, he may be, however he is also a democratically elected president of a sovereign nation, Syria, with over 80% of the vote in 2014 elections, and the Syrian people overwhelming support him over the US-backed Jihadi terrorists fighting to topple his regime.
If there was real freedom in Syria he would not be elected.
He was democratically elected, however, and if there was election fraud, or other reasons the election results misrepresented the true will of the people such as intimidation, the US is not one to talk. Elections here are a fraudulent joke.
I do agree with your assessment of Turkey, Erdogan is a power hungry dictator trying to rebuild the Ottoman Empire, in part by supporting ISIS and al-Qaeda terrorists trying to topple Assad, just like the US, Saudi, UK, and Israel also support these head-choppers.
As to Assad being a “killer” as you say, I know the Syrian Arab Army under his leadership has killed many people during this war, as war is deadly business, and civilian casualties are inevitable. I don’t believe he goes out of his way to slaughter his own people like the western media paints the picture, though, as that is refuted by the testimony of thousands of Syrian Civilians who have lived through this nightmare war.
You say hundreds of thousands were killed so he stays in power despite people’s will, and yet the ‘revolution’ to topple him has been a foreign-backed regime change effort from the beginning, just like Gaddafi in Libya.
If the people so overwhelming don’t support him as you say, why has there never been a single assassination attempt on his life, unlike Hitler, despite traveling freely through the country without a security detail?
And how many of those hundreds of thousands of people were killed by the US/UK/French/Israeli/Turkish/Saudi/Qatari-backed radical Jihadi terrorists? Very many were.
And how many would have been killed if they had never started that civil war in the first place? Far fewer, much closer to zero.
So how is it Assad’s fault the western empire and Gulf states armed, funded and trained radical extremist Islamist proxy armies to invade his country and wage war on both the government of Assad and people of Syria?
I have no doubt Assad has sanctioned his share of violence and oppression, however I think it is fair to say that secular Syria at peace was far better alternative than the seven year ongoing war, or the oppressive and totally unfree Islamic state based upon sharia law which the terrorists would setup if they took over, and indeed have done so in the areas of Syria they have occupied.
Every Syrian civilian coming out of ‘rebel’-held territory attests that it was horrible life under brutal terrorist occupation, without any religious freedom at all. At least Assad, despite whatever his crimes may be, has protected the Christians and religious minorities of Syria which the US-backed terrorists have slaughtered.
