Did you guys see this about the man who's been driving the same car for 70 years? Yeah, an 87 year old Canadian, Randall Pitman, bought this car in 1949 and has been driving it ever since!
He was working at a job pumping gas in 1949 and earning 10 cents an hour and saving every penny. He'd had his eye on a 1927 Ford Model T at the auction house and when it came up for sale he went down there with a hard-earned $50.
Here's how Randall tells it:
“Eventually, I bid $45 and the auctioneer, as auctioneers do, kept saying, ‘Forty-five! Who will give me 50?’” he remembers. “I stupidly said ‘Forty-seven fifty,’ and he said ‘Sold!’”
Lol! So he had his car. Here he is crank starting it!
Can you imagine how much money he saved over the decades instead of buying $60,000 cars? He did buy another car, but it was also a 1927 model! lol.
He's working on restoring it but it already looks great to me.
In the meantime he keeps on truckin with his first car and keeps her in perfect conditiion:
