Forcella Grande del Latemar is mountain pass in 2 650 m in Latemar mountain group in the Dolomites. On this mountain pass is situated Bivacco Mario Rigatti bivouac. This place is not easy accessible - from one side you can go from Val di Fiemme valley or Obereggen, from other side you can go here from Passo di Costalunga (Karersee). From this place is amazing views and also amazing sunrises (and most probably sunsets). During sunrise you can see (as I saw) on the south (and southeast and southwest) really well light Lagorai mountain group with highest Cima d´Asta mountains peaks, nearer part of Latamear mountain group and Dolomiti di Fieme (Fleimstaler Alpen mountains. On the north /and notheast and nothwest) you have an aeriral view to Carezza village and its surrounding, part of Rosengarten mountain group, lower hills arounds Bolzano and Brixen cities and more higher mountain peaks of Stubai and Zillertal Alps with glaciers ![]
I visit this place during my multidays trekking through Dolomites mountains, but you can visit this place during only two days trekking through Latemar mountain group with starts on Obereggen and fininsh in Passo di Costalunga with sleeping in bivouac in this mountain pass. Latemar mountain group is one of most wilderness parts of Dolomites, hiking in this mountain groups ii not easy, but breathtaking and sunrise (or sunset) in Forcella Grande del Latemar is the unforgotable experience.
