Despite what you might think, your "mental state" is really an emotional state. It has different feelings like sadness, sorrow and anger etc. There is no one way to explain your anger, the depth of your sadness, or the intense anxiety of your anxious feelings. It is important to recognize that these emotional states can be greatly influenced by the thoughts and emotions you may be having, and is far more specific than "my worry about the report."
As difficult as it can be, it's important to be honest with yourself. You need to learn when the more difficult end of the patience spectrum is over and when it's time to make demands. It's tempting to make demands when you feel frustrated or unhappy. However, use your polite, optimistic, optimistic attitude and don't take your anger out on the people around you. Rather, choose an honest tone and ask yourself: What am I willing to tolerate? If you can't imagine that you'd be willing to tolerate any thing, it's a red flag that your behavior isn't constructive.
When you are calm, you can pay attention to the events around you without being overwhelmed by emotion. This makes it easier to tap into your intellectual and emotional resources to build your case. This leads to better thinking. When you make decisions in stress and anger you make regrettable mistakes. Not only do you make them, you may also feel rejected or humiliated when you don't execute well. The negative feelings associated with being at the wrong place at the wrong time are felt by you as weak willed and unworthy.
But if you're working with kids, it's even more important to be honest. With kids, it is possible to reach an understanding where there is mutual respect and where one kid ends up getting the short end of the stick. But you will likely end up working harder to get it in the long run, which means you will have to pay a more lasting price.
If you're angry and frustrated about an unfair situation on your job, instead of letting it stew you over it for hours, tell your boss what you would do differently. Your boss may be tempted to let this go to the poor relation-status of they're bringing in the scapegoat. Instead of telling them to fire this person, give them a clear direction as to how to handle the situation. Don't waste all your emotions trying to make someone feel bad. It's best to reframe the discussion and open up a dialogue.
Do you feel it's worth it? Do you know that when you keep walking over the same little stone, without making changes, it's going to be a long, hard road in a happy, fruitful life? When you say you're tired and you try to sit down, instead of standing up you can't possibly pick up your chair. When you say that it's alright to be tired and that you need to go on for as long as it takes, you can't possibly say it's alright to be tired and that you need to keep going until you reach your goal. Not everybody is ready for the onerous demands of complete patience or the harsh requirements of difficult patience. But for the very, very few that can be, it's a unique, wonderful gift.
